I am glad to see that everybody is making tribute. The man deserves it.
I was so sorry to hear it. He'll live on, I assume, in the character of Duke in Doonesbury.
Hammer, deserving post. (My pc is still throwing tantrums, so I'm so glad others are showing this in blogland.)So sad- this man still will be a legend.
i've always meant to read more of thompson, but i'm an unfortunately lazy reader. the articles i did read, though, i found very inspiring. an intriguing mind and an even more fascinating lifestyle...i guess there are few people in this world who are truly unique, but i would use that word to describe mr. thompson.
Did you know he tried to spray obcenities along side "The Gretal", the Australian contender for the America's Cup in 1976. She was out in Sydney Harbor, he and one of his cohorts rowed out but were caught by one of the yachties on board her!!!
